Dragon Boat Accident Left Local Community in Shock

By motd | Nov 27, 2007

It was to be a simple dragon boat race at the annual Cambodia annual water festival. But it left the members of the Singapore Dragon Boat team painful memories. 5 of them were drowned when the boat capsized as the crew were rowing back to the starting point. This accident had shock the local communities as life vest are a must in Singapore. Be it a training session or race but it was not the case for races overseas. My condolences to the family and friends of the 5.

This accident leave me wondering how fragile life was. The 5 dragon boat crew were at the peak of their life with a bright future ahead. But all this was taken away. Besides the sorrow that they left behind for their families, were they covered by any family insurance which could lighten the burden of their family now that there were gone?

As I read the news report further, I realized that getting an insurance to safe guard my family is very important. If I would to pass away or be hospitalized for a long period of time, the payout could help my family in a huge way. There was just a small problem. Which insurance should I get?

There are so many around with new insurance policies coming out everyday and getting the correct type of insurance policy is just as important as just getting yourself insured. Moreover getting them early can save money on insurance premium as well. What kind of insurance are there on the market? Too many to name. I guess I would just use the insurance quoting services to save myself the trouble of searching online for the insurance policies.

Get yourself prepare for any unwanted surprises in life.

Yeah it was such a terrible tragedy…But I just had to say this(please feel free to delete this comment if you think i’m being rude): I feel it’s horrible that you’re using the tragedy as a means of taking up an opportunity from PPP…

No offence intended…I just had to air my disagreement….

No offense taken on your comment on the entry “Dragon Boat Accident Left Local Community Shock” I was using the accident as an example since this accident had shock the whole dragon boat community, I thought it would add an extra boast to the entry.

My apologies if you find this entry disrespectful for the 5 national team dragon boat members. It was never my intention to show any disrespect for them.

Thank you for pointing out my insensitivity towards the whole issue. I would be more sensitive in blogging such issues in the future. Thank for your views. I appreciate that.
