This is great news! Addition 1 month annual Variable Component (AVC) on top of the 13th month bonus! You can read all about it right here!
There will be a new performance based growth bonus next March. Payable in times of exceptional economic performance. Oh my god!
I wonder how much would the private sector get this time round since private sector would usually wait for the government announcement on bonus before announcing their own.

I know that I am not getting any bonus. If lucky, I hope that I still can get my regualr salary. Civil servants are so lucky. Now, how much is this costing the tax payers? And Vivian said that $290 is enough!
There are pro and con working in civil service.
For one you are expected to work on weekends and public holidays. Not to mention long hours at work.
When it comes to pay cut, they are the first to get a pay cut. Guess bonus depends on which industry you are in. Some are paying more than civil service.
I hate this! When I’m with the CS, bonus sucks. When I’m out, they give 1 month extra on top of 13th month. Haiz… sadness…
If only private sector pays 13th month too… which sadly, most of them don’t.
Nope, I’m not considering going back to join the CS.
@Claudia
Guess it is dependent on which industries you are in. Some industries are better paid than others. Private sector enjoys more freedom.
Getting this bonus means more work coming up … 2008 is the F1 Grand Prix … 2009 is the two casino opening … Going to b a very busy years for Civil Service … beside so many conventions, meetings and seminars in 2007 … Juz 2mth bonus does not compensate the loss time tat Civil servants lost with their beloved 1 …
Hey it doesn’t justify the inflation that we are getting recently.
Petrol Companies had just raised the price of petrol again! It is the 8th time this year!
